All gravel roads within the Shire of Yilgarn are closed to heavy vehicles exceeding 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass when the gravel surface is visibly wet.
It is the responsibility of truck operators to assess road surface conditions before travel and to avoid using roads that are still soft or water affected.
Road damage caused by unauthorised use will not be tolerated and may result in prosecution under the Local Government Act or recovery of repair costs by the Shire.
Operations may resume once roads have sufficiently dried, or with prior Shire approval.
