Parker Range Road & Marvel Loch Forrestania Road

 

The Shire of Yilgarn is providing notice that control of the full length of Parker Range Road and Marvel Loch Forrestania Road (South of the Parker Range Road intersection) is now under the control of Main Roads Western Australia.

 

The Shire had been negotiating a Road User Agreement with Covalent Lithium (Covalent) in relation to the upgrade of the mentioned Shire roads and ongoing use for haulage of Covalent’s lithium products from their Mount Holland mine site.

 

Despite ongoing negotiations over a two year period, a suitable Road User Agreement was unable to be agreed upon by both parties.  The State Government has now agreed for Main Roads to take over management of the roads.

 

The Shire expresses its gratitude to the State Government for bringing the matter to a resolution.

 

Whilst there are a few formalities to process in regards to the transfer of authority, Main Roads have already assumed responsibility for the roads.
